Why travel with us?

With 95% of our team being born and bred Malawians, we know Malawi and our neighbours like the back of our hand.

We never miss an opportunity to visit the places that we send you so that we know exactly what to expect; it’s commitment like this that truly confirms why we are ‘destination experts’.

Experienced
Guides

We are fortunate enough to have 5 outstanding guides, who know these roads like no other. They will safely transit you to and from each of your destinations, right from the doorstep, while regaling you with stories about the country and her people. They consistently get brilliant feedback and our returning clients request their guide again!

Destination specialists

As we don’t have our own lodges, we are able to offer an unbiased service. We know these countries like the back of our hand, and how they connect with each other. We have personally driven, flown and boated to each and every one of these destinations and lodges, and we know first hand how they cook your eggs, if the pillows are comfy, and more importantly, how cold the G&Ts are.

Competitive
pricing

Due to longstanding relationships with lodges we are able to offer fantastic prices, and advise the best packages and logistics, and ensure the best quality and value products for you.

Adventure guaranteed

Carefully selected accommodation, a unique destination and exciting activities – this is the recipe for an unforgettable experience in the Warm Heart of Africa! Grab a kayak, go for scuba, bungee jump, helicopter rides, gorge swings, hot air balloons, snorkel, waterski, sail, fish, bird, hike, bike, swim, relax.

Sustainable Tourism

At Crafted Africa we are passionate about supporting lodges that are committed to operating sustainably and minimising their ecological footprint.

Our planet is precious and the resources it provides are finite, which is why many of the lodges we work with choose to operate by solar power; recycle and minimise their water usage; grow their own produce; reduce and recycle waste; use eco-friendly cleaning products etc.

These lodges are also involved in supporting the community, hiring local people, buying from local suppliers, supporting community programmes with conservation and community levies on their bed nights that go straight into these projects.

This levy also goes towards the environment surrounding the lodge, such as wildlife and fish conservation, reforestation projects, clean up drives and community education programmes.

Customer Reviews

  • I travelled with Mike and his team to Zambia on safari a few years ago and had a truly fantastic time. Staff were great, itinerary was very well thought through and I’m currently thinking of ways in which I can go back! Can’t recommend it enough.

    Once in a lifetime trip
  • I met Michael in October of 2016 and booked my trip less than 60 days later. We left at the end of December through mid January. I went with my sister, brother and my father as it has always been his dream to go on safari. This trip made his dreams come true. Everything was handled, we staying at two amazing resorts and the internal flight was also handled. We saw so many amazing sights and had so many memorable experiences. The only downfall is that we all gained weight because the food at both resorts was AMAZING!! Can’t wait to go back again!!! I highly recommend Malawain Style for your safari adventure!

  • My boyfriend and I had a trip of a lifetime last April, organised by Malawian Style. The itinerary they created for us was perfect, with a mix of beautiful and unique places in Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia. Everywhere we stayed was so special, whether it be on the lake or on safari. I cannot recommend them enough if you are looking to visit this incredible part of the world.

  • Ronald Kampani our finance manager was born and bred in Malawi. He is the money man leading the money team (TMT) of Malawian Style. He has always been fascinated with and has a passion for numbers and nature, probably also explains why he initially majored Mathematics and minored Biology on his undergrad. He then studied finance and accounting and as fate would have it, he ended up at Malawian style doing what he loves. When he’s chasing for payment its nothing ‘personal’ just ‘finance’ :). Why should people come to Malawi? Because of its natural scenery, people & weather, plus culture. A piece of advice for someone coming to Malawi for the first time? Brace yourself for an experience of a lifetime! Sum up Malawi in one word? Epic! Contact Ronald at

  • Gabi is our third-culture-kid, having grown up around the world; of Italian and English origin; and with her family having settled in Malawi in the 1920s, she's seen it all and after finishing her studies in 2012, Malawi was calling her home. With a strong background in hospitality management, she's a hard girl to impress so can guide you in selecting the very best accommodation to make your trip an unforgettable one. As an animal lover, foodie and photography enthusiast, Gabi would rather be camping in the bush with her camera, pasta-maker and five pets in tow. Favourite place in Malawi or Zambia? South Luangwa - a.k.a the valley of leopards. How could anyone choose differently? To me, it is the beating heart of the animal kingdom. Best travel advice for clients? Kick off your shoes often and connect with Mother Nature - it's good for the soul (and the sole)! Try to leave your mobile devices turned off and put away. You'll soon forget about them and immersing yourself entirely in the natural world is a truly priceless experience. If you were an African animal which one would you be and why? I would love to say something elegant like a leopard but as my family insist on calling me, at 5"10, a giraffe is more my speed. Contact Gabi at
