Livingstone and Victoria Falls

Livingstone is a tourism centre for the Victoria Falls and Zambia, in recent years it has firmly become the destination of choice when visiting the falls. Named after David Livingstone, the British explorer who was the first European to explore the area.

Livingstone is rich in scenery and colonial heritage. The town was founded in 1906, and in 1911 it became the capital of Northern Rhodesia, now called Zambia. Today the town has preserved much of its colonial history, with many of the buildings still in use, however, it is a typical African town with a busy charm.
