Luambe National Park is located in the Luangwa Valley in Zambia, within the Luangwa River basin. It covers an area of approximately 254 square kilometres and was established as a national park in 1938, making it one of the oldest protected areas in the country. Visitors have the opportunity to spot iconic African species such as elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, and various antelope species. The park is also home to more elusive and rare species like the African wild dog and the Thornicroft’s giraffe. For nature enthusiasts, Luambe offers incredible game viewing opportunities, bird watching, and walking safaris. As one of the lesser-known parks in Zambia, Luambe National Park offers a more intimate and secluded safari experience, making it a hidden gem for wildlife enthusiasts seeking a more off-the-beaten-path adventure.
