Days 1-3

Thawale Lodge | Majete Wildlife Reserve (2 Nights)

Into the Wild

Arrive at Chileka International Airport and transfer to Thawale Lodge, located on the edge of Majete Wildlife Reserve.

This rustic yet comfortable lodge overlooks a lively watering hole, offering immediate immersion in the bush. Activities include game drives, bush walks and optional night drives, providing a dynamic introduction to Malawi’s Big Five territory.

Days 3-5

Zomba Forest Lodge | Zomba Plateau (2 Nights)

Off-Grid Highlands

Journey to Zomba Forest Lodge, an intimate, off-grid retreat nestled in woodland on the slopes of the Zomba Plateau.

Days are spent hiking forest trails, birdwatching or exploring the plateau’s waterfalls and viewpoints. Evenings are atmospheric and candlelit, encouraging a genuine digital detox and connection with nature.

Days 5-7

Mvuu Camp | Liwonde National Park (2 Nights)

River Adventures

Continue to Liwonde National Park and check in at Mvuu Camp, overlooking the Shire River.

Activities include boat safaris, walking safaris and game drives, offering varied perspectives of this wildlife-rich environment. The camp’s relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal for families and active travellers alike.

Days 7-9

The Lake House | Lake Malawi (2 Nights)

Lake Malawi Living 

Travel to the shores of Lake Malawi and settle into The Lake House in Chembe Village.

Spend your days snorkelling among vibrant cichlids, kayaking along the shoreline or simply relaxing by the tranquil water. This stretch of lake is known for its clarity and warm hospitality.

Days 9-11

Tongole Wilderness Retreat | Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve (2 Nights)

Remote River Wilderness 

Head north to Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve and check in at Tongole Wilderness Retreat, perched above the Bua River.

Explore this vast reserve by canoe, on foot or by vehicle. With limited visitor numbers, the experience feels exclusive and genuinely wild.

Days 11-13

Luwawa Forest Lodge | Viphya Mountains (2 Nights)

Highlands Adventure Base

Continue into the Viphya Mountains to Luwawa Forest Lodge. This cooler, highland setting offers a completely different landscape.

Activities range from hiking and mountain biking to canoeing on Luwawa Dam and cultural visits to nearby villages. The emphasis here is active exploration.

Days 13-15

Chelinda Lodge | Nyika National park (2 Nights)

Nyika’s Open Spaces

Travel to Nyika National Park, Malawi’s largest protected area. Stay in rustic log cabins at Chelinda Lodge and explore this unique high-altitude ecosystem.

Expect expansive grasslands, roaming antelope and opportunities for hiking, mountain biking or game drives across sweeping landscapes.

Days 15-17

Kachere Kastle | Kaningina Forest Reserve (2 Nights)

Forest Retreat

Continue to the tranquil Kachere Kastle on the sandy shores of Lake Malawi. Situated right on an untouched stretch of golden beach, the castle is fit for a king with comfortable rooms, gorgeous gardens and a spectacular view of the ‘lake of stars’.

With plenty of activities on offer, full Wi-Fi service and a sparkling swimming pool with a swim up bar, Kachere is an ideal location for solo travellers, couples, families or groups of friends.

Days 17-18

Crafted Africa Residence | Lilongwe (1 Night)

Capital Stopover

Return to Lilongwe and overnight at Crafted Africa Residence, a comfortable guesthouse offering a convenient and relaxed conclusion to your adventure.

Day 18 | Departure

Farewell Malawi

After breakfast, transfer to Club Makokola Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Lilongwe, departing Malawi enriched by a journey that seamlessly blends wildlife, culture, landscapes, and lakeside relaxation.
