The Lake House is a small family-owned lodge located on the beautiful shores of Lake Malawi at Cape Maclear, right next to Chembe Cultural Village. The lodge offers stunning views of Lake Malawi and is situated just a few meters from the edge of the crystal-clear Lake of Stars. The lodge comprises of 4 smart and clean rooms, all ensuite, ceiling fans/aircon, hot and cold showers, hair driers, and a swimming pool. They have a beautiful small beach where you can enjoy great views of Thumbi and Domwe Islands.

The Lake House is located along the shores of Lake Malawi, Malawi’s crown jewel of tourist attractions. You will be amazed by the beauty of the rising sun in the morning while you sit on the veranda with a cup of coffee in your hand. The lodge contains three bedrooms that offer full food service including continental breakfast options, lunch, dinner, and a wide selection of drinks available onsite. If you are keen to learn about Malawi culture you can go on guided walks to Chembe Cultural Village near which the lodge is located.
The Lake
The lodge’s prime location on the shores of Lake Malawi makes it unique. This vast crystal-clear mass of water is surrounded by beautiful beaches of golden sand. The clear water makes it a perfect spot for snorkeling and taking in the colorful kaleidoscope of tropical fish that live in the Lake.

The Perfect Place
One of most relaxing places I stayed in. I could sit on the sofa and watch the beautiful lake all day long. The staff were amazing. The food was delicious. I and my wife could not ask for more especially knowing that the price was one hundred dollars only.

The Heart of Africa
The Lakehouse is a stunning place to stay right on the lakeshore. You have never felt so at home and welcome in a place like The Lake House. Anne, the host and owner, was amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay! The staff are amazing, friendly, attentive and you leave knowing you have made a new Malawian family. The food is perfect! They never let you miss a meal.

Malawian Paradise
To Anne and all of her amazing staff! We had the best time ever at this B&B on the shores of Lake Malawi. We cannot thank everyone enough for our time spent there and for everything they did for us during our stay. The food was AMAZING and the service was FANTASTIC! We had a vegan in our group and her meals were creative and just as tasty as ours. We all really enjoyed our time at The Lake House and can’t wait for another visit. Thank you Anne for letting us all work in your Mango Tree Nursery, we learnt so much from the teachers. Thank you again for having us and we look forward to coming to see you and our new Malawian Family in the near future.
