Untouched beach
Located off the beaten track from tourists, the Kachere Kastle beach is pristine and untouched. With very few tourists, you will have the golden sands to yourself – jump into the warm blue waters of the lake and make the most of their watersport activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, or venture on a day trip northwards and strap in for a scuba dive. You will also find Kande Horse up north where you can experience beachside horse riding and even take the horses into the lake for a swim!
Rooftop sundowner bar
Toast the setting sun on the castle’s rooftop at their beautiful bar. A zingy sauv blanc or gin and tonic are the perfect tipple to watch the sun go down on another beautiful day on Lake Malawi. Gaze over the blue waters of the lake and the lush green of the gardens, watching as the birds feed on the evening insects and come home to roost for the night.

A wonderful stay
We’ve heard about this place for years but finally decided to visit this year. And it was very well worth it! We stayed in the upper tower suite which was spacious with lovey views over the lake. And a rooftop bed under the stars if you fancy. The meals we ordered from a menu each day and they were absolutely fantastic and the desserts divine! The pool was in immaculate shape and is a good size. The beach is very private & quiet except for the sound of the waves. Kate and Russ were very kind and hospitable and provided good conversation. Definitely if you have not visited it’s a must along the northern lakeshore!

Such a warm and wonderful space
Spacious rooms overlooking either the lake or the pool (which has a pool bar). Friendly and responsive staff. Great place for not only adults, but also kids. Wide open beach, with clean sand. Kate and Russel were incredibly warm and welcoming. We can’t wait to get back and try out the tower rooms!

Unique, beautiful getaway in the heart of Malawi
Very private lodge with high customer standards. The local staff are clearly highly trained in providing top costumer service, they are polite and service oriented. We arrived during the quiet season so felt like a private, exclusive getaway with a clean pool and empty beach. Very nice rooms, cleaned daily, and camping space was fully equipped with bathroom/shower/individually cooking area/nightly watchman. Always felt extremely safe and well cared for. The food is AMAZING. Presented as and tasted similar to a top end restaurant.
