Taita Falcon Lodge is a peaceful retreat perched on the edge of the Batoka Gorge cliffside, located just 11 km from Victoria Falls. Surrounded by natural bush and set high above the Zambezi River, the lodge offers a quiet alternative to busier town accommodations with stunning panoramic views. Guests can enjoy spacious, thatched-roof chalets cooled by the gorge breeze while exploring the area at a slower pace. With a range of adventures nearby—from white-water rafting and helicopter flips to cultural village visits and gorge hikes—it is an ideal base for those wanting to experience the “smoke that thunders” alongside authentic Zambian wilderness.
“This beautiful island paradise is the perfect tranquil place to relax when exploring the falls, from otters and hippos swimming around the island to the incredible rooms with huge bathtubs with a view over the river, amazing food and hilarious managers. I was treated like royalty here and can’t wait to go back! Crossing the swing bridge to get to my room on the second island was a really fun way of making the lodge seem so remote!”
