Luxurious rooms
The lodge is built on a raised platform with wooden walkways and boasts 6 luxurious tented rooms, this includes one larger tent which can be used as a family unit. Each room has two large queen-sized beds, a spacious en-suite bathroom which has both indoor and outdoor showers, and a spectacular view from your balcony or bed – observe the wild and relish the beautiful surroundings. The main area is comfortable and stylish, enjoy a dip in the pool during the warm days, relax on the deck and look out onto the never-ending plains or sit by the fire in the evenings and enjoy some quality stargazing – it’s a magical part of the world.
Wildlife
Shumba Camp is appropriately named after the prides of lion that are regularly seen in the area. Not only this but leopard are common, and the area is also home to a number of other wonderful animals, Elephant, wild dog, buffalo, wildebeest and antelope; to name a few. If you are passionate about your birds this place is a birders paradise, with up to nearly 500 species. With views from the lodge onto the plains you can catch regular sightings of large amounts of Puku and Lechwe without leaving the site
Hot air balloon ride
A hot air balloon ride is a must. The views are breath-taking, watch the wild animals below from a superb view above. You get a better sense and understanding to just how incredible the plains are and can enjoy some of the most picturesque views and stunning sunrises in Africa.

We visited Busanga Bush Camp and Shumba with breathtaking views over the plains but from a different perspective. Shuma is elevated above the plains with 6 luxury spacious tents and excellent and friendly staff to make your stay as wonderful as possible. Both camps offer different experiences which make your safari feeling as complete as possible.

Truly Incredible
Shumba camp was simply incredible. From the moment we arrived and greeted by all the stuff with hot towels you could tell this was going to be a surreal place. All the staff knew our names and treated us like one of them. Fred the barman always made us laugh and the likes of Chrispin, Charles, tsekai, Isaac were always very cheerful and delightful to be around providing incredible service.
