  • The Mighty Zambezi!

“My wife and I spent 5 nights at Tembo and loved it. As always with Great Plains, food and service were beyond. MC our Butler was the best. Totally on top of his game and Eliott our Guide was terrific. One of the best we’ve ever had. Zimbabwe was so hot, Mana Pools especially so we did morning game drives and then evening Sun Downers on the Zambezi. Mornings were early because of the heat but if you didn’t get out early the animals would be hiding from the heat. We did see Lions on an elephant kill, lots of elephants, baboons, hippos and lots of antelope. The Zambezi is beautiful, and I highly recommend fishing for Tiger Fish. It’s catch and release. My wife caught three one evening.” Date of stay: September 2024

  • Tembo Plains 2023

“Tembo Plains was our 3rd stop on this safari. We arrived here via boat transfer down the Zambezi River. I cannot say enough about this camp…. service was top notch…and the food was that and everything more. Largest safari tent we’ve ever stayed in! Our guide here was Brad…Brad knows his stuff, safari life is in his blood, he comes from a long line of guides in his family.” Date of stay: August 2023

  • Amazing time with amazing friends

“We shared the family tent with very dear friends in this amazing place on shore of the majestic lower Zambesi in The Sapi conservation concession, adjacent Mana Pools. The ambiance, the people, the food, the boat trips were all just beyond wonderful despite the fishes did not want to bite and the big cats did not want to show up. However, the elephant encounters, so close, so peaceful and relaxed were just GREAT. The sundowner on a sandbank in the middle of the river, what an experience to never forget.” Date of stay: November 2022
