  • Superb Experience

We were a large group that literally took over the island after a Essential Destinations safari in Ruaha and Selous in early February 2019. Wilson and the staff welcomed us not as an invading army but as old friends. The bandas had great ocean views and lots of hot water. We ran out of superlatives for Chef Michael’s dishes. Every meal was astounding. Hakim dialed us in for snorkeling right off the beach. Folks went fishing and we had barracuda for lunch. The staff was wonderful. Bare feet in the warm sand of Fanjove is the way to end any safari in southern Tanzania. We will be back!

  • Incredible Island Paradise

“Most amazing 4 day stay in paradise. Expectations were exceeded. Thirteen friends took over the entire island inhabiting all 6 bandas with a truly amazing staff taking care of our every need. Thank you Wilson for your exceptional hospitality and big smile. Hakim, for your enthusiasm and keeping us busy with activities and chef extraordinaire Abdul and his right hand man Michael for treating us to culinary miracles. The wait staff … top notch!! Everyone!! A total dream team. We enjoyed sundowners on the Dhow, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, fishing, lounging in the shade with a good book, cocktail hours, walks around the island. Every meal was truly amazing. We enjoyed the open air bandas with coffee delivered every morning. If you’re looking for a relaxing end to a safari trip or a romantic getaway …. come to Fanjove Island!” – Sockeyefran, February 2019

  • Beautiful and isolated

The rooms have great views of the sunrise and some are more sheltered from the wind during different times of the year. Snorkelling is absolutely fantastic, even off the beach – no need to have a boat trip to a snorkelling spot. The dolphin excursion is well worth it. The dolphins are not harassed and to swim next to them is a wonderful experience.
