At the heart of a pristine and private corner of Mana Pools lies Ingwe Pan, a secluded retreat where nature sets the pace. This intimate camp is designed for those seeking an authentic bush experience without sacrificing comfort. It offers quiet immersion in the rhythms of the wild, where wildlife roams freely and the stars shine unchallenged. For discerning travellers, it’s the kind of place you return to in your thoughts long after you have left.

We love Ingwe Pan for its warm and welcoming team, fantastic wildlife-filled location, excellent guiding, and delicious food, all combining to create a truly memorable safari experience.

Exceptional Location

Set on the edge of one of Mana’s largest natural pans, Ingwe Pan Camp sits in the exclusive Wilderness Area, just 16 km from the park’s main reception and only 8 km from the airstrip. Surrounded by a rich blend of fig, baobab, and jackalberry trees, the landscape is both striking and serene. The camp’s location ensures uninterrupted views and an incredible sense of space—away from other camps and tourist routes.

Unique Activities

The area is a haven for leopards and other elusive species such as nyala and brown hyena. Guests may witness lions, herds of elephant, buffalo, and even wild dogs visiting the pan in the evenings. Game drives and guided walking safaris are led by seasoned professionals who know every inch of the terrain. Whether on foot or in a vehicle, each excursion offers new discoveries in a landscape teeming with life

Accommodation

Eight spacious Meru-style tents are tucked discreetly into the bush, offering sweeping views and a feeling of absolute tranquillity. Each tent is fully serviced and blends into the environment without compromising on comfort. Though informal in style, the camp delivers a high standard of hospitality from daily housekeeping to expert guidance on how best to prepare for your days outdoors. Evenings are relaxed, with the dress code firmly in favour of comfort over formality.

  • Bosley!!!!!!

“What a place!!!! Food was terrific. Rooms were great and the Pan where we ate our meals was its own Game Drive. One night a hyena took an impala right in camp. We would go back to Ingwe in a heartbeat. AB our Guide was brilliant. We found and saw lots even though it was so hot. Probably 10 celcius hotter than it should have been. We saw a pack of 12 Painted Dogs looking very healthy. We saw some lions and lots of elephant and antelope. The main attraction though was seeing Bosley. He is an elephant that has taught himself how to stand on his back legs and pull branches down from trees. He is self-taught and has also taught some of his siblings and his sons. The day after we saw Bosley we saw one of his brothers doing the same thing. It was so great. It’s amazing what animals can do.”

  • Outstanding Camp with great Game, food and comfort

“We are 2 local Zimbabwean families and after much research decided on booking Ingwe Pan in Mana. It was an awesome experience from start to finish. We spent three wonderful nights and couldn’t complain. Comfortable spacious accommodation overlooking the pan. Saw Leopard the first night at the Pan then a pride of lion very close following day. We had a male lion in camp each evening roaring loudly marking his territory once we had all gone to bed. The birdlife was fantastic at the Pan and out of the game drives. Drove down to the Zambezi River too. Brian was a brilliant guide. The food was outstanding. One of the best chefs I have experienced.”

  • Mana memories at Ingwe Pan

“Ingwe Pan Camp is located in Mana Pools National Park, about 20 minutes from the shore of the Zambezi River. A beautiful camp with great service from the crew there. The platform tents are well furbished. We enjoyed very much our 4 day stay there. Machaba has great camps in Mana and also Hwange Parks. The food was 5 star and plentiful. We even had a surprise dinner one night on a sandy river bottom. No tsetse flies. Wildlife around the camp was constant with elles coming into the camp to eat the figs, off the ground and off the tent roof right next to you!”
