Zarafa Camp is an intimate retreat where luxury meets untamed wilderness. Designed with a deep respect for the environment, it blends seamlessly into its wild surroundings while offering guests an unforgettable safari experience. Every detail has been thoughtfully crafted, ensuring comfort without compromising on sustainability. This is not just a camp—it is a journey into the heart of Botswana’s wilderness, created by visionaries who wanted to share the magic of Africa in the most responsible way possible.
Set beside the shimmering waters of the Zibadianja Lagoon, Zarafa enjoys one of the most spectacular settings in northern Botswana. The lagoon feeds the legendary Savute Channel, drawing extraordinary herds of elephant and buffalo during the dry season. From dawn to dusk, wildlife is never far away—hippos snort in the water, elephants stroll through camp, and birdlife fills the air. Its position within the Selinda Reserve means guests are surrounded by thriving populations of predators and plains game year-round, making it a prime destination for any wildlife enthusiast.
Days at Zarafa are designed to be as adventurous or relaxed as guests wish. Game drives in custom-designed safari vehicles allow for close encounters with lions, leopards, wild dogs and countless other species, while night drives reveal the secretive nocturnal world. Guided bush walks bring a fresh perspective, letting travellers connect with the wilderness on foot. For something truly memorable, the camp’s pontoon boat offers a floating lounge and dining space, perfect for sundowners as elephants wade across the lagoon. Photography enthusiasts are spoiled, with professional camera equipment provided in each suite and safari vehicles tailored for capturing perfect shots. Scenic flights, fishing, and even private guides can be arranged for those seeking a more personalised adventure.
With only four tented suites, Zarafa offers an exclusive experience shared by no more than eight guests at a time. Each suite has been carefully designed to combine elegance with eco-friendly principles, built entirely from reclaimed wood and canvas. Solar power drives the camp’s energy, while waste is recycled into cooking gas—demonstrating a rare balance of comfort and conservation. The interiors are spacious and beautifully appointed, complete with private verandas overlooking the lagoon. From these tranquil spaces, guests can watch wildlife pass by or simply soak in the stillness of the wilderness, knowing they are part of something both luxurious and sustainable.
