The Z Hotel Tours
Rates/Bookings

As the only hotel in Tanzania to be named one of the “trendiest hotels in Africa”, the Z is absolutely a dream in delivering on its title. They provide their guests with a bright and airy atmosphere with rooftop views all wrapped in a carefully blended mix of African and contemporary decor. They also offer all the amenities of modern living by installing LCD and cable TV, WiFi and docking stations in all the rooms (right above each bed). Not only that, they have a wide variety of activities including water sports, snorkelling, diving and fishing and being located close to the world renowned Mnemba atoll, it’s a perfect place for the more energetic vacationer to indulge. So if you’re looking for some sporty, casual and trendy relaxation, this is the place to try.

Rooftop wining and dining

They really used the space they had to the maximum and they did it with style. Guests have a stunning rooftop view as they enjoy drinks and food especially at sunset. I got to laze about in the orange ambience as the sun set. It’s positively wonderful. They have two lovely restaurants; Cinnamon, which serves lunch and dinner and Saruche which serves breakfast and dinner. Saruche serves from a set menu and orders need to be placed at 3pm, while Cinnamon provides the a la carte side of dining. The views at dinner and lunch time from Cinnamon in particular, are to die for.

Dazzling Décor

Inspired by the vibrant London culture ( I keep hearing 😊), it hasn’t been given the award for the trendiest hotel for nothing. The design is notably contemporary with a relaxed feel but they have also stayed true to their African roots by incorporating beautiful timber themes wonderfully complimented by their traditional khanga cushions and curtains. The thought put into this part of the experience is truly to be commended.

Take me back to the beach

Situated in the North of Zanzibar, it is well known for having the best beaches. All you see is white sand and clear blue waters for miles ( some High Def views) They even took the liberty of providing guests with the opportunity to dine on these stunning shores. For a beach bum like me, this was a dream! 😊

  • Honeymoon Beach Stay in Nungwi

The Z Hotel in Nungwi is nothing short of breathtaking. Nungwi is a beautiful secluded part of Zanzibar and so happy we included it as part of our Honeymoon itinerary. Julie the GM runs a very well oiled establishment and was always accessible to sit down and chat with, as were all her staff in particularly the senior managers. The Ocean Front Cottage Suites are a must, waking up on the water as the waves crash underneath the cottage and your private balcony or deck for uninterrupted sunsets were a game changer.

  • Fantastic!!!!

Excellent Hotel (extremely clean, room was 100% perfect with all plug sockets in the right places,) Staff (always smiling & very helpful,) Food & Cocktails! (I ate every night at the Hotel as it was reasonably priced and delicious.) Lovely Location. Used the Spa there too. Could not fault anything.

  • Great food on a beautiful stretch of beach

Nice accommodation tucked away on a beautiful beach. Staff were very attentive. Beautiful grounds and nice walkways to other nearby resorts and shops. Amazing food at all venues, especially at Saruche. The infinity pool was lovely, overlooking the beach. Julie, the General Manager was especially helpful with making plans both on and off site.
