There is lots to do in this quaint little spot due to its location, in the Ntchisi Forest Reserve. You can choose to head out on a lovely short stroll into the forest, or hike for a few hours and take a lovely picnic with you and sit near one of the rivers or waterfalls. Look out for the incredible birdlife around or the gorgeous orchids that continue to pop up along the way. Hard to imagine this is just outside the busy capital city…it is heavenly.
One of the newest jewels to the lodge, the forest cabin is perfect for an intimate and private stay, enjoy it with close friends, you and a loved one or even the family. Although hidden within the forest it is still close enough to the lodge itself. Enjoy some peace and quiet on your veranda and in the colder months you can enjoy a roaring fire in the comfort of communal area.

We did a quick overnight trip to the lodge with or two children ages 3 & 6 and had the best time. Our daughters loved exploring the walking paths and watching the sun set with an incredible perched view. We stayed in the forest cabin which felt like something out of an Instagram post! It was so clean and cozy. The perfect size for our family of 4
I planned to stay just a while at Ntchisi Forest Lodge, but extended my stay up to nine days in total. What an idyllic place and charming colonial house. And don’t forget the lovely fresh and varied meals, with vegetables and herbs from their own garden. We had even strawberries and blackberries for breakfast !
I had an amazing stay at Ntchisi Forest Lodge. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the amazing staff and instantly feel welcomed. The setting is amazing, with mountains all around, a tropical forest to go hiking with friendly and informative local guides (Gift was great!), and perfect spots for sunsets and sunrises. The food was the best I’ve had in Malawi so far, local produce and fresh.
