Chikunto Nthawi House, also known as The House of Time, is a new two-bedroom exclusive-use private tented villa by Chikunto Safaris in South Luangwa National Park. Opening from September 2026, it is designed for guests who want space, privacy and a slower, more personal safari experience in Zambia’s Valley of the Leopard.
The house offers two en-suite bedrooms, generous indoor and outdoor living spaces, an expansive deck, a private counter-current saltwater pool and views over a wildlife-rich waterhole. It works especially well for families, couples or friends travelling together who want the freedom of a private safari home while still benefiting from Chikunto Safari Lodge’s guiding, hosting and bush experience.
Spacious Private Safari Villa
Nthawi House has two en-suite bedrooms, each with its own private lounge area. One bedroom has a super-king bed, while the second has a king bed that can be converted into twins. The house also includes shared living and dining areas, indoor and outdoor lounging spaces, a large writing desk and coffee-making facilities.
Expansive Deck and Private Pool
The villa offers around 220m2 of internal living space and more than 340m2 of deck space. The outdoor area includes comfortable deck furniture, a firepit, waterhole views and a private counter-current saltwater pool, giving guests plenty of space to rest between safari activities.
Private Safari, Photography and Slow Travel
The experience is well suited to guests who want a more flexible safari pace. Parties of four or more receive complimentary use of a private vehicle, while Chikunto also offers a dedicated photographic hide, camera support, photo-studio facilities and one of the highest sleepout platforms in the park.
