Accommodation

Nestled in amongst the forest, The Stables Guest House provides three double luxury rooms for visitors wanting something a little different than the usual beachside experience. Each beautifully furnished deluxe room provides a comfortable 4-poster bed with canopy mosquito net, fan, en-suite toilet and sink. Relax and unwind on one of the balconies as you watch the sun set across the horse stables and working yard.

Horse Riding

Visit Matamba Equestrian and enjoy one of the superb horse rides on offer. The team is highly professional and can cater to all ages and levels of riding experience, from complete beginners to seasoned riders. Ride past fishing villages, receive warm greetings from friendly children, and observe families going about their daily lives. Some rides take you through stunning Brachystegia forests, via the local township of Kande, across expansive floodplains and along the breathtaking Kande Beach. To top it all off, finish your ride bareback in Lake Malawi and swim atop your horse. This is an experience you will never forget!

Food Glorious Food

Beautifully home-cooked meals each day, with much of the produce sourced from their vegetable garden. A variety of different meals will be tailor-made to suit your taste. Meal times are flexible to suit activities planned for the day. The closest beach is situated 3km away at Kande Beach. It is a short drive away, a nice walk away or a fantastic ride away.

    We spent the most unforgettable experience in Kande lodge.
    Visited with my boys and my father in law, it was amazing swimming with horses in the Lake for Praise and Malsel was tip top. It’s a go. The rooms are fantastic the horses and whole yard my boys didn’t want to leave.

  • An amazing weekend – Thank you

    My daughter took one of their planned 2 hour rides through the forest, local market and down into the lake – an experience she will never forget. How often do you get to swim with horses?
    She then also had the opportunity to stay, help exercise other horses and work there for a day and a half. To say that she thoroughly enjoyed it is a massive understatement.
