Enjoy the wildlife that frequent the plains from your very own balcony or sit in the cosy rustic common area with a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Enjoy a game drive, boat cruise or walking safari – there is something for all to enjoy.
“The views overlooking the Shire River are spectacular. The rooms are nicely tucked away within the fever trees so offer a real sense of privacy and the views from your very own balcony are very impressive. The food is delicious and the hosts and staff friendly and hospitable with fantastic attention to detail. Kuthengo Camp is a lovely intimate place to enjoy a safari for a few days.”

The camp is small and intimate with only 4 safari tents, the decor simple and yet stylish and comfortable. Each tent has its own en-suite bathroom with a big bath and outdoor shower that looks out onto the river. With your own balcony facing the river, it’s the perfect spot for a sundowner. The lounge and bar area is charming and you get a gorgeous view of the plains in front of you and when you aren’t on an activity the plunge pool makes it all the better to relax and cool off in the African sunshine. Listen to the wildlife around you and take in the scenic views, with one of the most spectacular sunsets around.
Kuthengo is one of two camps within the Liwonde National Park, so if you want to enjoy a safari in peace with hardly anyone around then this is the place for you. The park is unspoiled, and you can enjoy walking safaris, game drives and river cruises when staying at Kuthengo, with great sightings of wildlife including, lion, cheetah and rhino. The birdlife on the river is also exciting and elephant and buffalo frequent the banks regularly. You won’t be disappointed with what the park has to offer.
