  • Not the usual safari experience but not to miss!
“The room is very comfortable; enough space, very good bed and room to put your things. There is an indoor toilet and an indoor shower/wash basins. But don't miss showering outside with open view of the plains. The food is very very good with a salad bar at lunch and for diner a fixed menu (but with room for dietary restrictions). All the staff is very friendly, professional and very important also flexible! They extended our afternoon drive without any problems. Wake up call 5 am and before 6 the safari starts.” Date of stay: October 2021

  • Gorgeous, luxurious and naturistic

“I had an awesome time when I stayed for four nights a King Lewanika Camp. The site overlooking Liuwa Plain is just awesome. I could hear the lions at night. My tent was quite comfortable. The food was awesome and served in large quantities. The house wine was better than I expected. The service was just superb. I was surprised to see that there were other guests in camp. I also got to chat with Philip Briggs who is arguably the greatest travel writer in Africa.” Date of stay: October 2021

  • Long weekend away from it all

“King Lewanika was a unique and very different experience of Zambia, with its vast, golden savannas that obscure a menagerie of wildlife. The lions, cheetahs and hyenas were amazing to behold and the bird life was bountiful in the variety of water fowl. The main lodge and “chalets”, were very comfortable and reflected the minimalist environment of the plains that spread before it, while providing comfort and a sense of luxury. Food was delicious and varied. Afax and the local staff were warm, welcoming and charming. A perfect end to our celebratory trip for our 50th anniversary.” Date of stay: April 2021
