Kanga Expeditions offers an exceptional wildlife experience in the remote heart of Mana Pools National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Situated next to the Kanga Pan, the only year-round water source in the area, the camp attracts a wealth of wildlife, particularly in the dry season. Accommodation consists of six luxurious Meru-style tents, including a family tent with a private terrace and a honeymoon tent with a starlit bath. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, such as game drives, walking safaris, birdwatching, and excursions to the Zambezi River for canoeing and fishing. Kanga Expeditions provides an unforgettable, intimate experience, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of one of Africa’s most pristine wilderness areas.

We absolutely loved everything about Kanga, the incredible team, the wild and remote location, the abundant wildlife… truly an epic experience!

Exceptional Location

Situated deep within the Mana Pools National Park, Kanga Camp stands out due to its unique position, far from the typical tourist routes along the Zambezi River. While the camp is accessible by road, the quickest and most convenient way to reach it is by air, with a private charter flight from Harare taking just 90 minutes. The surrounding area is renowned for its extraordinary game-viewing opportunities, especially as wildlife converges at the nearby Kanga Pan, making it an unparalleled destination for those seeking adventure and peace in a secluded environment.

Unique Activities

Kanga Camp offers an array of activities for the discerning traveller. Game drives across the Kanga Private Concession provide the chance to explore diverse habitats, while a full-day excursion to the Zambezi floodplains offers a panoramic view of the park’s stunning landscapes. For those seeking a closer connection to nature, guided walking safaris are the ideal way to delve deeper into the wilderness. Water-based activities such as canoeing and fishing are also available, with the opportunity to encounter the park’s renowned population of Cape Hunting Dogs – a rare and fascinating predator to observe

Accommodation

The camp features six luxurious en-suite tents, each designed with comfort in mind. Guests can enjoy private verandas overlooking the water hole, as well as outdoor showers that offer sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. The main camp area boasts a two-tiered deck with stunning vistas, perfect for relaxing and taking in the views. For a truly unique experience, the family tent offers a spacious wraparound terrace with private dining and seating, while the honeymoon tent is ideal for romantic getaways with an outdoor roll-top bath and unparalleled views of the wildlife below.

  • Amazing Safari Camp – 5 Star

“We had the most fantastic stay at Kanga camp. Very much more of a “rustic” camp but that adds to the experience. Reggie our guide was extremely knowledgeable, experienced and entertaining, making the game drives unforgettable. The food was excellent, Joyce the host and her team (Blessing, Bee) were fantastic, as were the rest of the staff at Kanga. The tented accommodation was very well looked after – Tendai our housekeeper made sure of that, it was very clean, comfortable and felt luxurious.”
