Kanga Camp is situated in a very remote area in Mana Pools National Park and in its own private concession, offering guests an intimate and unique safari experience. Due to its location, in the remote islands of the Kanga Pan, it’s not like any of the camps around the area as it’s not right on the river. Its authenticity is one of its main attractions. The Pan, which is the main source of water in the dryer months means you will get the opportunity to encounter some incredible sights around the area as the wildlife come down for their daily drink.
Remote Location
Due to the remoteness of the camp, it offers a far more intimate and personal safari experience to guests and is not like other camps within Mana Pools which sit on the river. The camp lies in the bush in its own private concession and right next to the Kanga Pan and is the only source of water within the area. This offers guests game rich viewing as the wildlife descend to the Pan from the surrounding areas. No other vehicles or guests from other lodges in site, just you in an exclusive environment. It is a safari lover’s dream and makes for a memorable and special stay.
Tea on the deck
Staying in lovely places when on safari can have its perks, the luxurious accommodation, top class service and wonderful staff. Kanga Camp ticks all these boxes but it’s the views over the Pan and the private viewings you get when sitting out on the deck having morning coffee or afternoon tea that add to all this. It is what they call the ‘armchair safari’. When the levels of the water are low, watch as the elephant and a number of other wildlife come for a drink, and what feels like in arm’s length to you; unique, pinch yourself, unforgettable moments.

Go in the heart of the dry season and the game viewing should be very good. Beautiful setting, excellent facilities. Staff quickly becomes family. Sings you into camp and cares for guests beautifully. Excellent and varied cuisine. Well maintained.

Safari where animals come to you
This is an amazing camp. There is a huge waterhole right in front of the main building and all day long animals come to drink. You see more animals at the waterhole than on a game drive! This camp is set in the wilderness of Mana Pool. There are only 12 luxurious tents all with outdoor shower, basin and toilet. Enjoy the bush while you shower!

Big Mac woke us every morning
Yes, there is a resident BIG MAC, he is around 25 years and loves the tiny fruit that falls from the trees. he is an elephant and he is BIG. we had a welcome from the camp staff, singing us to and goodbye the camp. The food was served overlooking the ‘pan’ water pool (Mana Pools) under some fruit trees.
