  • Great campsite on the banks of the Kafue River!

“We stayed in the The Kafue River Lodge campsite for 3 nights as part of a wonderful mobile safari with The Zambia Safari Company. The site is located right by the river away from the main lodge under large shade trees. It’s really well managed with excellent facilities. There is a boma with a cooking area, together with a great shower and toilet block with what seemed like constant hot water from a well attended donkey boiler. The manager and staff at KRL were very welcoming and helpful. Game viewing was good and seemingly exclusive due to the vast geographical area of KNP. We were woken by a chorus of hippos in the river each morning. Glorious. Well worth a visit!”

  • Elephants, hippos, birds, warthogs, baboons, puku, and so much more.

“From the moment you arrive at Kafue River Camp the staff is ready to help you feel at home and to take incredibly good care of you.

My aunt and I were the only people staying at the camp for most of the time we were there, so we were lucky enough to have guides Evaristo and Moses (and later, Newton) to ourselves. They answered every question we had patiently and in detail, they spotted and identified dozens of animals and birds, often at a distance, they were open and friendly and kind and shared so much interesting information about the park, their lives, and the history of Kafue National Park. Precious and Matinta were solicitous and very kind as well, offering us refreshments, greeting us with warm cloths and fruit drinks upon every return to the camp from game drives, doing our laundry, informing us about meals, and so much more.”

  • Great View from Private Deck

“This was my first stay on my safari and was truly beautiful and magical. Thought it was out in the Bush, it was romantic, well provisioned and provided all the necessary comforts. The food was great along with the laundry service. They had great outdoor living area that was shared by all 15 in our group. The was even a bar and an awesome gift shop that featured items crafted from the various staff members’ villages.”-
