Tucked away in a quieter corner of northern Hwange National Park, Nantwich Lodge offers an authentic safari experience for those seeking both adventure and serenity. With its eco-conscious design and intimate atmosphere, the lodge blends raw wilderness with thoughtful comfort. Guests can expect unhurried game drives, immersive bush walks, and uninterrupted views of nature. It’s a place where Africa’s wild rhythm sets the pace and every day offers something unexpected.

Exceptional Location

Nantwich enjoys a prime position in Hwange’s northwest, serving as a strategic link between the park’s southern and eastern reaches, and neighbouring Chobe in Botswana. Its proximity to Victoria Falls makes access easy just a 2-hour drive or a quick 30-minute flight followed by a scenic transfer. As the closest lodge in Hwange to the Falls, it’s a perfect beginning or end to any Southern African safari.

Unique Activities

Nantwich offers a range of experiences suited to both seasoned safari-goers and curious first timers. Game drives—morning, afternoon, and evening—reveal everything from stealthy predators to vast herds grazing in the distance. Guests can join expert guides on foot, exploring wide-open plains and ancient springs unique to this part of Hwange. For those seeking something special, ‘The Hidden Eye’—a secluded photographic hide—provides a front-row seat to wildlife behaviour from an entirely new angle.

Accommodation

Each of the nine guest rooms has been thoughtfully revived with a touch of modern design while preserving their original character. Clever reuse of local materials, soft textures, and warm tones create inviting spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful. Some rooms feature inter-leading doors, making them ideal for families or groups of friends. All rooms include en-suite bathrooms and blend comfort with environmental mindfulness.

  • What an amazing time we had, the games drives were so special

“Wow, what an amazing time we had. The staff could not have been more helpful we were looked after so well, thanks especially to Ncozi and Leroy. But the best was the amazing game drives, who knew you could get that close to so many different wild animals, including the pride of lions with cubs in touching distance, amazing. So a huge thank you to Ndaba for the fantastic series of game drives, making our stay so memorable, wow the best 4 days! We went on to other parks and lodges, but this was by far the best experience.” Date of stay: June 2025

  • Zimbabwean hospitality at it’s best!

“We spent amazing family time with our children and parents at Hideaways Nantwich Lodge. The lodge itself has a lot of character, with the main lodge evoking a Zimbabwean farm atmosphere with cosy fireplace and open kitchen where you can watch the chef at work. The views from the main lodge towards a large dam is beautiful and we saw mamy antilope as well as the resident hippo and warthogs from the front stoep. The eco-friendly chalets are well appointed with everything you need to ensure a perfect stay.” Date of stay: July 2025

  • Perfection

“From the moment we arrived the staff were exceptional. The accommodation is stunning with beautiful views across the watering hole. Upon arriving we were greeted with a musical welcome, mocktails and refreshing towels. However, this was slightly undermined by a giraffe visiting the watering hole. Accommodation: our room was a beautiful thatched chalet overlooking the water. A family of warthogs entertained us throughout our stay with their coming and goings. The chalet was subtle, rustic yet luxurious with a shower I still dream about!” Date of stay: May 2025
