Fothergill Island is a luxury tented safari retreat set on Lake Kariba within Matusadona National Park, Zimbabwe. With sweeping lake views, spacious tented suites and access to both land and water-based safari experiences, the camp offers an African safari with a distinctive island feel. Guests can explore by game drive, walking safari, boating safari and fishing excursion before returning to refined suites, fresh dining and relaxed decks overlooking the water.

Fothergill comprises 10 spacious tented suites across two linked camps: five Lake Suites, two Family Suites and three Island Suites. The Lake Suites include generous decks, lake-facing views and private plunge pools, while the Island Suites can be booked exclusively or added to the main camp for extra privacy.

The camp offers guided game drives, walking safaris, boating safaris and fishing. Its location allows guests to experience wildlife from both land and water, with elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, birdlife and predators forming part of the wider Matusadona safari experience. Additional activities include archery, family activities, a running track, gym equipment and a guided Kariba town and dam wall visit.

Meals are freshly prepared by the camp kitchen and served in scenic settings around the island, on the banks of Lake Kariba or in Matusadona National Park. Public areas offer Wi-Fi, swimming pools, alfresco seating, shaded lounges and decks for relaxing between safari activities.
