Dunes de Dovela’s idyllic location in the middle of wild forest on sand dunes creates a special and unique getaway from the humdrum of everyday life, to a peaceful wild haven. Whether from the deck of your room or tent showers the views enhanced by the contrast between the ocean, the jungle and the dunes make up a unique scenery that never gets old. The food made from locally sourced ingredients is simple and tasty. There is a wide range of activities from guided hikes, kayaking, community visits, bird watching, snorkelling all perfectly adapted to the pristine location.

Luxurious Accommodation

Dunes de Dovela has two types of accommodation namely bungalows and semi luxury tents. The luxurious bungalows are carefully built from local materials and offer attractive views over the Indian Ocean. Designed to accommodate two people, each bungalow has a private bathroom, separate toilet, and an open-air shower. The rooms have a sitting area where you can enjoy sunrise or an afternoon reading. You are perfectly positioned to enjoy undisrupted sea views either from the inside of your bungalow or on the veranda. Wake up to the sound of humpback whales bursting as they migrate to warmer waters of the Mozambican channel as you sip of your morning coffee or tea served to you right on your veranda.

Cuisine

Dunes de Dovela creates a great blend of delicious cuisine inspired by Mozambican and French traditions. Discover their 1001 flavours inspired by their three pillars of cuisine which are aubergines, lobsters, and passion fruits available all year round. As one way of ensuring that tourism revenue is mainstreamed into the local communities Dunes de Dovela sources locally grown produce. Fishermen bring freshly caught rock lobsters, octopus, and fish straight from the front beach to the restaurant’s kitchen. The hotel also embraces seasonal fruits and vegetables grown in the nearby village including baby marrows, peanuts, lemons, tomatoes, coconuts, onions, cassava, cashew nuts or mangoes.
