Established in 1987 Dedza Pottery and Lodge was co-founded by Christopher and Charity Stevens and offers a wide range of handcrafted pottery for sale. The Internationally recognized products are found all over Malawi some being exported to international markets. They also feature a charming tea/coffee shop, and restaurant.
The moment you step into the Dedza Pottery ceramics factory you will be amazed looking at how many pieces are handmade by the highly skilled craftsmen. The factory tour is an amazingly unique and memorable experience you cannot miss once you visit Dedza. Learn the whole process of making pottery from attaching handles to mugs, applying various glazes, undertaking firing procedures to applying finishing touches all by hand. The factory tour is tailormade for you to appreciate whatever happens behind the scenes for you to treasure any piece you buy from them.
The restaurant is popular for its delicious food, coffee, and cheesecakes. It was recently awarded a silver medal in the Best Restaurant in Malawi competition. They also feature a bar that offers a wide selection of wines, ciders, beers, and soft drinks. There is a full satellite TV for live coverage of all major sporting events around the world.
Dedza Mountain acts as backdrop to the beautiful lodge overlooking Mzengeleza Mountain to the west. The lodge features 6x spacious en suite rooms which are conveniently located to each other and the restaurant. The rooms are attractively furnished and designed all fully accessible.
