Situated at Katengahumba Island, Chula Camp was founded in 2019 detached from the mainland by the famous canoeing area known as the “Discovery” channel. This private Island gives unique views over the Zambezi River. The wilderness and wildlife experiences are second to none with the finest big game viewing in Africa.
Chula is a stunning island camp with 5 guest tents to cater for only 10 people at once, with each tent sparsely located for best views of the Zambezi River. The main area is stretched set under mahogany trees, making it a perfect location for meals, reading, charging cameras, and watching game.
Simply put, this area has some of the best game viewing in Africa accompanied by natural scenic beauty. There is a high density of elephants that gather at the onset of the dry season together with herds of buffalo and impala. There are also plenty of predators such as lion, leopard, and wild dogs.
With a wider spectrum of wildlife activities on offer, Chula and Kutali Camps in Lower Zambezi are very ideal for any safari enthusiast. They are specialists of walking safaris and canoe-based safaris with highly qualified guides. They also offer both day and night game drives and even in angling for those wanting to try their hands at landing the world-famous Tigerfish. Being experts in photography their guiding team are experts in angling, light, wildlife behavior and anticipation.

Every year a group of us friends fish the Zambezi River. This was by far our most successful trip. Kyle and Luke run a fantastic set up with great staff and a very comfortable stay. Their knowledge about the bush and the waters is second to none. It is highly recommended to visit, and we will certainly be back. Heaven on Earth
We spent four nights with Tusk and Mane in the Lower Zambezi. It was a extraordinary and wonderful experience. The camping is exceptionally civilised, everything is very well organised and the team are so friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful. And, on top of all that, due to Kyle’s incredible skill and knowledge we had some breathtaking experiences on the canoe and walking safaris as well as game drives including night drives. We saw a sea of crocodiles devour a hippo carcass, three male lions playing together, a leopard and her very young cub, elephants right by our tent, a huge array of bird life including an eagle owl and so much more. I really cannot recommend Tusk and Mane highly enough
Real Safari experience, with hands on owner experience, activities offered were superb, the food, the staff, were attentive and service was brilliant, if you are looking for a proper bush experience then look no further than this, really out of this world, thanks again Kyle and staff.
