Chembe Eagles Nest lodge is located in Cape Maclear, with its very own private beach on Lake Malawi. The lodge boasts a number of small quaint chalets which are all en-suite and have views overlooking the well-kept gardens and lake itself. If you are here for a short or long stay you will find this lovely location has so much to offer, adventure awaits you. If you just want to relax and enjoy some down time there is plenty of that to do around this tranquil spot too.

“I LOVE Chembe, it’s like a home away from home, and a regular destination for me over a long weekend; with my husband or a group of friends (but it’s a great spot for families too!). It’s situated right at the end of the Cape Maclear bay so you have your very own large, clean and private beach, free from passersby and vendors. The rooms are simple but comfortable, clean, en suite, with air-con, fan and all with a beach view! The swimming pool is a great win as well when all you want to do is be lazy and horizontal in the sun. The food is tasty, creative and carefully thought out with the owner’s chef son having taught the kitchen crew a thing or two about good food! The staff here are fantastic too, very friendly, organised and attentive. The lodge even has its own catamaran ‘Mama Afrika’ that can be rented with a skipper for a full or half day picnic excursion around the bay and surrounding islands.”

  • Great relaxing couple of days here

Perfect way to end our stay in Malawi! Rooms comfy (and ac!), staff so very helpful. Felt no need to leave the guest house, so relaxing! Organized a boat trip for us at last minute as we only had one day left. Finally the pool, what a great place for a sunset drink!

  • Quieter spot at Cape Maclear

We spent a couple of nights here either side of our trip to Domwe Island. We were pretty much the only guests there. We camped and had a great view of the lake. The toilets/showers were very clean. There was also 24 hour security. The beach is private as there is a fence each side of the beach. There is a clean swimming pool and shaded thatch lapas at the top of the beach. Food and service were very good.

  • Fabulous as usual.

The lodge has a fresh new look and a great chef- some of the best meals in Malawi.
Crisp new, white linen makes a huge difference to the experience. The view from the chalet right onto the private beach is the biggest draw card. Staff are extremely friendly and professional, making it the perfect stay.
