Casa Costantini is a family-owned lodge situated along the stunning shores of Lake Malawi in Senga Bay. The lodge is comprised of 8 rooms and 3 cottages on a large open plot surrounded by stunning gardens and a fabulous lake view. The main cottage ‘Big Blue’ enjoys 180° views of Lake Malawi. It has 2 large family rooms and 1 triple room, all en-suite and exit onto a long verandah. The beach in front of the cottage is down a flight of steps – although not present all year round due to seasonal lake water levels, there is still a platform and plenty of sun-loungers for you to enjoy the sun and lake. The main area has a sitting room, dining room, verandah and a well-equipped kitchen.
Delicious Meals
Casa Costantini knows how to put a great meal together! The food is delicious, wholesome and full of flavour. This family-run lodge and operates both on self-catering, half board and full board bases. Full board includes tea with cake/biscuits on arrival day, sundowner pre dinner savoury snack, 3 course dinner (starter, main and dessert), breakfast the next day and a brunch or lunch depending on if staying for 1 night or more.
Accommodation
The lodge has a total of 8 rooms available between the 3 spacious cottages namely Big Blue, Mbaba and Bombe. The main cottage, Big Blue, sits on the lake front with fabulous views from above. It has 2 large family rooms and 1 triple room. The 2nd cottage, Mbaba, sits just behind the main cottage in the lush gardens filled with old trees and colourful blooms. It is slightly smaller with 1 en suite double and a double and triple which share a bathroom. There is a sitting room and a small kitchen also fully equipped including a coffee machine and ice maker. The third cottage, Bombe, is a 2-bedroom cottage and sits adjacent to the 2nd cottage. All rooms have access to a walkway to the beach with a cement deck on the embankment lined with sun-loungers.
Location
Casa Costantini’s location is ideal for a quick trip to the lake. Just 1.5 hours from Lilongwe, it’s a great spot for the first or last destination of your trip given its proximity to the airport and gives guests a taste of the beauty of Lake Malawi. The beach and fresh blue waters are so inviting and offer wonderful views from the guesthouse and main area. The gardens in and around the lodge are so well kept and beautiful, it provides a real sense of tranquility, resting in the shade of an old tree by the beautiful pool.
