During the evening, before you sit down to dinner you can enjoy the roaring fire with a beverage in hand and discuss the days activities with those around you. Or if you want peace and quiet and some down time, head to the fire when no one is around, sit in silence and peace and be in awe of the starry sky above

Location
Teak forest on one side and open plains on the other, the location of Camp Hwange is spectacular. The area attracts a number of wild animals and the birdlife is prolific. Each safari you head on is exciting with lots to see, you will continue to be captivated. Another unique setting is the nearby rocky boulders where leopard is often spotted. Sit by the Masuma waterhole and enjoy the elephant and buffalo that come down for a drink daily, you are also likely to catch a few other wildlife around too. Walks are popular and exciting, the game viewing is guaranteed to be a real treat. The area is rich with wildlife and there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Beautiful Hwange
It’s mostly been covered on here- Camp Hwange is wonderful. They were so accommodating of our kids (they’re not usually allowed but because of the quiet time of year they took us in). They did wonders with my veggie meal request too. My kids still ask for bedtime stories about Sweetcorn who is busy baking a cake when he gets the call to bring his tractor and pull someone out of the mud 😉 Thank you especially Adam, Linus and Washington: these guys are a credit to your establishment.

The experience out of 7 weeks of excellent places
After our 7 week long trip through Southern Africa in early 2018, we can say that our time at Camp Hwange was the high point of our entire trip (which had many wonderful parts). When our grandsons are old enough to, “Sit, Watch and Wait” we’ll be back. We just hope the entire crew is able to keep up the wonderful work. We are most grateful!
