Busanga Bush Camp Tours

Busanga Bush Camp is a hidden gem tucked away on an island of sycamore fig trees and date palms. The camp is in the heart of the Busanga Plains in the Kafue National Park, with some of the most magnificent views of both sunrises and sunsets you will experience. The camp itself is small and remote, the rustic yet elegant feel offers a true safari experience to all guests.

“I was really impressed with the bush camp, the location is incredible and the views of the flood plains from the rooms are spectacular. The hot air balloon safari is a must, the views from above are out of this world and I have never experienced a sun-rise quite so incredible. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful during my stay and the food too was brilliant.”

Intimate

The Busanga Plains is one of the most substantial wetland resources in Zambia. When the plains flood, the area becomes unreachable and therefore the camp is only open from June – October. However, when the floodplains do dry out, watch as the areas become abundant with wildlife coming in from surrounding woodlands. Although the wildlife is limited compared to the north of the park, you enjoy that all-important intimacy with the bush and feel like you are the only ones around, which we think is a bonus when heading out on safari

Hot air balloon

The activities at Busanga Bush Camp are led by highly qualified guides who have excellent and extensive knowledge of the bush. Other than the usual day and evening game drives you can enjoy hot air balloon flights over the vast plains, which allow guests to view the area from the skies. It is truly magical and a must if you have never had the chance to enjoy such a thrilling and stunning experience. Half the cost of the hot air balloon flight goes towards conservation and protecting the wildlife in the area. Even more exciting; if you stay 3 nights or more between Aug-Oct this is a complimentary activity.

Comfortable chalets

With only 4 chalets, this camp is intimate and offers a very personable experience. The décor is simple and keeps in line with the bush feel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable including open-air bathrooms. You get a full sense of being out in the African Bush when staying here, and we think that is exactly what you need to feel at one with nature. Although, not a high-end luxury you can relax in comfort and enjoy the gorgeous views onto the plains.

  • Stunning Plains

We visited Busanga Bush Camp of Wilderness safarie’s and it was really stunning. The plains, the excellent friendly staff. No words can describe the beauty and peacefulness of this area. An experience to never forget.

  • Didn’t want to leave!

I travelled over the world but this was the first time I didnt want to leave. I tried to think why this wonderful place made such an impact on me. Maybe it was the combination of so many experiences, from the camp manager Mcray and his wonderful staff, our experienced guide, Emmanuel, the 5 star cuisine, the beautiful location of the camp site looking over the plains, the bird and animal life, the balloon ride over the plains or just the warmth and friendliness we received from the day we arrived until we sadly had to leave after our 4 day stay. Luckily we will be back next season.
