Bomani Tented Lodge is located within a 5000-acre private wildlife reserve, positioned on the remote southeastern edge of Hwange National Park. The lodge offers a secluded and immersive safari experience, where guests are surrounded by the natural beauty of the African wilderness. With no fences separating the lodge from the park, wildlife roams freely, creating an authentic connection to the landscape. Its unique location ensures an exclusive and tranquil atmosphere, far from the crowds, making it a perfect escape for nature lovers.

Exceptional Location

The lodge enjoys an enviable setting in the south-eastern corner of Hwange, a region known for its expansive open plains and dense forests of camelthorn and teak trees. Guests are treated to dramatic views and frequent sightings of elephants, giraffes, lions, and more, as they roam the area. Bomani is just a short 15-minute drive from the national park, offering easy access to both the private reserve and the park. This area is remote enough to ensure an exclusive safari experience, yet accessible enough to immerse guests in wildlife activities.

Unique Activities

At Bomani Tented Lodge, activities are designed to give guests the freedom to tailor their safari experience. Game drives and walks allow exploration of both the private reserve and Hwange National Park, with professional guides ensuring each outing is special. The opportunity to observe elephants up close while sitting in a sunken hide at Stoffie’s Pan is a highlight for many, offering an unforgettable wildlife encounter. In addition, cultural visits to nearby villages provide valuable insight into local life, while community projects allow guests to engage with the area’s conservation efforts.

Accommodation

Bomani Tented Lodge offers a mix of accommodations to suit various preferences, with 10 spacious tented rooms and one luxurious stone and thatched bungalow. The “Spurwing Suites” are larger, with elevated views of the Bomani Pan, offering a more luxurious stay. The “Saddlebill Lodges” provide a rustic charm, raised on wooden platforms for excellent views of the plains. All rooms are equipped with modern amenities, including en-suite bathrooms and electricity. •  African Paradise

“We expected the lodge to be beautiful, and to see some wildlife, but the experience we had greatly exceeded our expectations. Firstly, it was our first safari, and we knew visiting Hwange in the green season wasn’t giving us the best opportunity to see wildlife. We haven’t seen the landscape at other times of the year, but the green season is an African paradise. Wildflowers littered through lush grass, Zebra, Impala, Wilder beast and Giraffe all grazing in the same line of sight. Cubs, foals, fawns and calves everywhere. We saw a baby Wilder beast soon after birth, taking milk for the first time. Birds were abundant, perching metres away from us, as if on display. The green season is a magical time.”

  • A must stay in Hwange!

“The staff were wonderful. The setting was amazing. The food was great! Dilean was a great guide – Big Boy and Obert were wonderful hosts. Their team is amazing. Loved the game drives and being able to lean about the rhinos and the Imvelo organisation. My first time in Zimbabwe, a wonderful experience and I will definitely be going back!”

  • Could not have asked for anything more!

“I am an ex Zimbabwean, and this was my first trip home in many years. I have been waiting for my daughter to get to a good age to understand this type of trip. Let me start by saying this experience exceeded all expectations, form the Staff, to the Lodging and the food. Our guide Deliane was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we were able to see all the game possible, even the Cheetah brothers! I highly recommend this outfit for a proper African Safari. We will definitely come back in 2026 for a longer stay!”
