Bomani Tented Lodge is located within a 5000-acre private wildlife reserve, positioned on the remote southeastern edge of Hwange National Park. The lodge offers a secluded and immersive safari experience, where guests are surrounded by the natural beauty of the African wilderness. With no fences separating the lodge from the park, wildlife roams freely, creating an authentic connection to the landscape. Its unique location ensures an exclusive and tranquil atmosphere, far from the crowds, making it a perfect escape for nature lovers.
The lodge enjoys an enviable setting in the south-eastern corner of Hwange, a region known for its expansive open plains and dense forests of camelthorn and teak trees. Guests are treated to dramatic views and frequent sightings of elephants, giraffes, lions, and more, as they roam the area. Bomani is just a short 15-minute drive from the national park, offering easy access to both the private reserve and the park. This area is remote enough to ensure an exclusive safari experience, yet accessible enough to immerse guests in wildlife activities.
At Bomani Tented Lodge, activities are designed to give guests the freedom to tailor their safari experience. Game drives and walks allow exploration of both the private reserve and Hwange National Park, with professional guides ensuring each outing is special. The opportunity to observe elephants up close while sitting in a sunken hide at Stoffie’s Pan is a highlight for many, offering an unforgettable wildlife encounter. In addition, cultural visits to nearby villages provide valuable insight into local life, while community projects allow guests to engage with the area’s conservation efforts.
Bomani Tented Lodge offers a mix of accommodations to suit various preferences, with 10 spacious tented rooms and one luxurious stone and thatched bungalow. The “Spurwing Suites” are larger, with elevated views of the Bomani Pan, offering a more luxurious stay. The “Saddlebill Lodges” provide a rustic charm, raised on wooden platforms for excellent views of the plains. All rooms are equipped with modern amenities, including en-suite bathrooms and electricity. The central lodge area, complete with a plunge pool and a view of the waterhole, allows guests to relax while watching wildlife at close range.
