“Even through this is in the GMA, the wildlife was fantastic! The fishing excellent and the lodge was great! From beautiful rooms with AC (needed in November) to the wonderful staff who made me feel like family!”

– Last visited by Chloe McCormack, sales & marketing – November 2019

“Baines has that old school colonial feel to it and maintains a high level of well-furnished rooms, it feels like a home away from home and the staff go above and beyond for you. The cocktails are excellent, and you can enjoy one of these delights whilst watching the sunset over the Zambezi River on one of the sandbanks; a relaxing early evening sundowner with the wildlife to enjoy close by, it’s a safari haven.”

– Mike Varndell – Managing Founder – November 2018

  • Wonder hosts with the best food

What a beautiful camp. We had a lovely room overlooking the Zambezi and it felt like a colonial home. Debbie and Ben were wonderful hosts and made us very welcome and at ease from the moment we arrived. The most wonderful river trips and game drives. The high light of the camp for us was the canoeing on a tributary of the Zambezi with hippo’s crocodiles and elephants all around us as we silently glided down the river. The food was 5 star and the choice was amazing.

  • Wildlife in the park and on the water, and excellent attention

Baines River Camp is run by a tight group of capable and dedicated staff, almost a family! They took wonderful care of us, both in the wildlife activities (fishing, canoeing, walking safaris, game drives, river cruises) and in the camp itself, where we were treated to fantastic meals and hosted in very stylish cottages. It is an absolute recommendation.

We’ve been to many safari-lodges and bush-camps over the course of the last 15 years. The Baines River Camp is the ultimate spot for a great safari experience.
Game-drives, fishing, walking and a lot more. The guides, the hosts and the staff are amazingly attentive and competent.
