Azulik Lodge and Villa form an exclusive-use eco retreat set on a unique ridge at the northern point of the San Sebastian Peninsula, within the Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary. Positioned around 70 metres above the sea, the property looks over turquoise Indian Ocean waters, shifting sandbanks and passing local dhows, creating a rare combination of barefoot beach luxury, wildlife sanctuary setting and private-use hospitality.
The collection can be booked as either the four-tent Azulik Lodge or the two-suite Azulik Villa, or combined for larger families and groups. Azulik Lodge is ideal for friends or families of up to eight guests, while Azulik Villa suits couples, honeymooners or small families seeking extra privacy, with space for up to four adults and two children. Together, they offer a secluded bush-and-beach base where guests can enjoy coastal views, sanctuary activities, private dining, relaxed service and access to the wider Vilanculos and Bazaruto marine environment.
“What we love most about Azulik is how effortlessly it combines style, comfort and genuine warmth. The lodge is incredibly well designed, making the most of its breathtaking views while creating beautiful, comfortable spaces in which to relax. The warm, friendly and knowledgeable team makes every stay feel truly special, while the excellent cuisine is consistently fresh, creative and absolutely delicious.”

Private Bush-and-Beach Setting
The property sits within the Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected marine and wildlife area known for white beaches, clear water, wetlands and diverse land and marine life. Guests can combine beach relaxation with sanctuary experiences such as snorkelling, paddling, 4×4 nature drives, nature walks and kite-surf equipment for experienced kite surfers. Sandbank picnics and wider Bazaruto marine excursions can also be arranged, subject to tides, weather and availability.
Fully Inclusive Service and Dining
Rates include exclusive use of the booked Lodge or Villa, all meals, local beers and spirits, a selection of house wines, soft drinks, teas and coffees, bottled water, local cocktails, bush walks, nature drives, Starlink internet, laundry service, picnics, snorkelling gear, paddle equipment, kite-surf equipment and SUPs. Meals can be served in the dining area or in special outdoor settings such as beach picnics, bush dinners or packed island lunches, weather permitting.
Azulik Lodge and Villa can work well for travellers seeking a secluded beach-and-wildlife escape, with warm coastal scenery, ocean views and private-use accommodation. The surrounding sanctuary is suited to relaxed beach days, nature walks, wildlife sightings and soft adventure.
For marine-focused travellers, scenic helicopter flights may offer chances to see whales during whale season, usually from August to early November. Sandbank picnics and some beach activities are tide-dependent and should be discussed with the Azulik team at the beginning of the stay. The archipelago is a malaria area, so guests should seek medical advice before travel
