Wildlife Conservation

  • Walking in Magic

    My husband and I wrapped up our two-week African honeymoon on Mnemba Island for 3 nights in July 2019. Imagine…every evening at 6 pm watching the sunset outside your luxurious banda with vodka dawas (so delicious, we now make these at home) and appetizers to view the sunset each evening before dinner. Then imagine strolling in powder-soft sand as waves whisper the way to the dining area so you can enjoy a gourmet meal under the stars (unless, as we were one night, you are invited to experience your meal apart from other guests surrounded by trees, lantern-lit for optimal romance).

    The entire &Beyond team on Mnemba went out of their way to give us a 6-star experience. From the exceptional food to the unbelievable scuba diving – we had a fantastic four nights. Thanks for the special Forrest dinner and we were so lucky to see the turtles hatching

  • Desert Island on Steroids

    I have been fortunate to visit Mnemba three times: November 2006, March 2016 and March 2020. To go three times in life is just being totally spoilt. If you can only go once, go without your children. Our last visit was as parents and was my least favourite as previously it has to be some of the most romantic moments my husband and I have shared together. It has not changed in the 15 years I have gone here. Simple, bohemian barefoot luxury. The white powdery sand, the exclusivity and the turquoise ocean; the basics never change. Chefs have come and gone but the food is always outstanding. The highlight is the dhow sunset cruise. Always the same crew who are well practiced photographers at this point. I cannot fault And Beyond on this exquisite escape. I hope I visit again just with only my husband.
