Why We Love Mana River Camp
Key Features

Rates/Bookings

Mana River Camp offers guests a rare sense of space, tranquillity, and closeness to nature. This seasonal camp captures the essence of traditional safari living with all the ease of modern comfort. It’s a place where travellers can experience the wild as it was meant to be—untamed, personal, and unforgettable. Ideal for those seeking serenity by the river without losing the thrill of wildlife all around.

We love Mana River Camp for its beautiful location and well-maintained, comfortable vehicles that make every game drive a pleasure.

Exceptional Location

Tucked beside the flowing waters of the Zambezi and framed by ancient shade trees, the camp lies in one of the most scenic spots in Mana Pools. The area is alive with movement—elephants are frequent visitors, cooling off in nearby mud pans or wandering through camp as if to greet their guests. With uninterrupted views of the river, every sunrise and sunset feels like a private showing of nature’s theatre.

Unique Activities

Mana River Camp encourages a slower pace, where guests can soak up the sights and sounds of the bush without distraction. Guided walks, gentle river moments, and game viewing all take place within an area rich in wildlife and birdlife. Its sister camp, Ingwe Pan, provides an excellent contrast inland, offering guests the best of both river and wilderness in one unforgettable journey.

Accommodation

The camp features six elegantly positioned tents, each offering an immersive riverside setting. Though completely mobile and packed down each year, it feels far from temporary. The set-up reflects a deep respect for nature, leaving no trace when the season ends. Thoughtful touches and warm hospitality ensure that every stay feels relaxed, authentic, and full of charm under the African sky.

  • Mana River Camp a magical camp on the banks of the Zambezi

“The Mana River Camp overlooks the Zambezi and was constantly visited by various groups of elephants during the 2 days of our experience! The staff was perfect, the chef truly incredible (he really deserves at least 1 Michelin star). Camp Manager Shepard and guide Richard made the experience unforgettable; Richard went out of his way to fulfill our desire to see the wild dogs: seeing a group of 13 wild dogs with their cubs up close was a truly remarkable experience”

  • Outstanding location and fascinating guided bush walk

“This camp lives up to its name and can’t be closer to the Zambezi river. I had tent 1, the closest to the communal dining area, and the sound of hippos a few metres below (down a steep bank) was the background music to the whole stay, which was wonderful. The highlight of the visit was a guided walk with Richard. We drove inland a short distance from camp and walked in an open area of beautiful ana trees, going as far as “Long Pool” one of the four lakes that Mana Pools is named for.”
