Every journey we design at Crafted Africa ends the same way. With one question. How was it really?

The numbers
Across all responses, our guides averaged 9.6 out of 10. Staff service scored 9.7. Vehicle condition came in at 9.4. And 97% of guests said they would recommend Crafted Africa to someone else.
Those are not numbers we take for granted. They reflect many early mornings, many kilometres, and a team of guides who genuinely love what they do.
What guests valued most
When guests wrote in their own words, a few things came up again and again: the depth of knowledge their guide carried, how clean and well-maintained the vehicles were, the warmth of welcome at each lodge, and the food. Always the food.
Several guests mentioned that their guide not only drove them from place to place but also taught them something. About the land. About the people who live there. About Malawi’s history and the wildlife that calls it home.

The people behind the experience
Kennedy, Mathias, Lawrence, Eddy and the wider guide team were mentioned by name across dozens of responses. Guests described them as knowledgeable, safe, flexible and enthusiastic. More than once, a guide was described as the highlight of the entire trip.
One guest put it simply: “These people know what they are doing. They handle everything while all you have to do is show up and enjoy the journey.”
Another, travelling from the Netherlands, wrote: “Our guide was the most enthusiastic we have ever had. We have travelled a lot, including across Africa, and this trip is one of the most memorable and stunning we have ever taken.”

We are Refining
We take great pride in listening closely to guest feedback, as it plays a vital role in shaping and elevating every journey we design. While we greatly value positive feedback, we also welcome constructive criticism, as it allows us to continuously learn, improve and strengthen our team and processes.
A small number of guests highlighted opportunities to refine certain areas, including consistency in lodge dining and the in-vehicle guest viewing experience. These insights are already being integrated into our partner conversations as part of our commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional guest experience.
We have introduced key check-in touchpoints throughout guest journeys and incorporated a dedicated Guest Experience Concierge role to further refine, strengthen, and perfect our service delivery throughout the entire travel experience.
Why it matters
A safari is not a small decision. Guests come to Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe from across the world, often for a trip they have dreamed about for years. The trust they place in us is something we think about every single day.
Hearing that 97% of guests would recommend us is a reminder of why this work matters. And hearing from those who had a harder experience is a reminder that there is always more to do.
If you have been on a trip with us and have not yet left a review, we would love to hear from you.
