Set on the banks of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers with the gorgeous mountainous backdrop, Time + Tide Chongwe Camp is in one of the most picturesque areas of the Zambezi. From towering trees around camp that attract large herds of elephants to panoramic views from the tents. There are a number of activities to enjoy, fishing, game drives, boat rides and for those avid photographers there is a photographic hide to enjoy. There are endless ways to see the incredible wildlife here.
Although not the first activity you would think of in the Lower Zambezi, the walking safaris at Time + Tide Chongwe are especially good. Adventure through the north at the foothills of the escarpment near the waterfalls to try and find the rarely seen Samango or Blue Monkeys, Klipspringers and Bush pigs.
The camp’s location is famous for its abundance of wildlife, which means you don’t actually have to leave camp to be in the middle of the action. From the herds of elephants who visit the river and floodplain to the high numbers of wild dog in the area, the park has no fences and the animals know no boundaries! If you do want more time in the park you can easily arrange for your excellent guide to take you on a full day excursion with a delicious packed lunch where you can spend endless hours tracking down the wildlife to your hearts content!
Time + Tide Chongwe Camp tents are charming, with local textiles and furniture which has been hand crafted, everything has been beautifully thought out and blends in perfectly with the scenery. Each tent offers panoramic views along the river, sit out on your private deck and watch as the wildlife visit the banks.
