Itinerary

Day 1-3

South Luangwa National Park, Zambia | Kafunta River Lodge

On your arrival at Lusaka International Airport, you will connect with your local flight to Mfuwe Airport in South Luangwa. You will be met and greeted by your guide and transferred to the beautiful Kafunta River Lodge. Located on a natural hot spring along the mighty Luangwa River this part of the park enjoys exceptional wildlife numbers and right by the lodge you can find the annual carmine bee-eater nesting colony around October, November. You will spend the first two nights on your tour here.

Day 3-5

South Luangwa National Park, Zambia | Three Rivers Camp

In the morning, you will be transferred to Three Rivers Camp. Kafunta’s superior bush camp set away from other lodges and camps, this is a luxury bush camp set on the afflux of the three rivers running through South Luangwa. The star beds are the real draw here, at no extra cost you can choose to sleep in your comfy indoor bed or an incredible fully made bed with a mosquito net on a raised platform that’s open to the stars. Here you can watch as hippos come to munch the lawn and catch any nighttime action. You will spend two nights of your tour here.

Day 5-6

South Luangwa National Park, Zambia | Island Bush Camp

Next up is Island Bush Camp, a rustic bush camp set on the banks of the Luangwa River where you can get back to nature and experience unspoiled African wilderness with stunning views of the river and the Luangwa Valley.

With just 5 chalets, this remote camp offers complete seclusion and specializes in walking safaris. Each thatched chalet is open to the elements so you can see into the bush both by day and by moonlight. You will spend one night of your tour here.

Day 6-8

South Luangwa National Park, Zambia | Kulandila Camp

As your tour continues to get more exciting, today you will be transferred to Mfuwe Airport to catch your private charter flight to Kulandila Camp, set amongst the Lala palms and lush vegetation the camp is designed for rustic luxury.

The camp comprises four elevated tents for the best views, a refreshing swimming pool, viewing decks and an al-fresco-style dining area for you to enjoy between your game viewing activities. You will stay here for two nights of your tour.

Day 8-11

South Luangwa National Park, Zambia | Sungani Lodge

After your stay at Kulandila, you will be transferred to her sister lodge, Sungani – a luxury wilderness property that has been designed with a focus on privacy and decadence in the bush. The lodge is built on an elevated deck with all its structures edged by a huge lagoon and indigenous trees which attracts the areas wildlife who are more than happy to put on a show for you as you sit and admire them from the comfort of your private deck. As a family, they are dedicated and focused on restoring and protecting African wilderness while delivering an exciting, authentic, and memorable experience for their guests. You will spend the last three nights of your tour here.

Day 11

End of Itinerary

Departure Day. End of your tour! A representative from Sungani will transfer you to their airstrip to catch a helicopter flight to Mfuwe Airport. At Mfuwe you will catch your flight to Lusaka for your onward journey.
