Gorongosa National Park is one of the most authentic safari experiences in southern Africa. New this year, Wild Camp Gorongosa is a rustic lodging experience featuring canvas tents and beds with solar lighting, solar showers, ablutions, USB ports for charging phones, evening campfires, and an outdoor dining area. All meals are prepared by an experienced chef.
“A beautiful and authentic eco-friendly bush camp in a wild location. We loved our time here and were very impressed with the vehicles, guiding and the delicious food in camp.”
Mike & Lotte, 2022
A generous selection of authentic wildlife safari activities is on offer at Wild Camp – from driving, walking and boat safaris, to community visits and tours of Mount Gorongosa. Guests are allowed to become part of one of the most remarkable restoration stories in the world. Your stay here is inclusive of accommodation, all meals and two activities per day.
Embark on a safari in this natural wilderness and get a chance to enjoy spectacular sightings of many animal species. In the park there is mount Gorongosa that is isolated with rich and unique habitats, home to many species rarely found elsewhere. An example is a special type of Zebra known as Crawshay’s zebra. Other species include Mount Gorongosa Katydid, Green headed Oriole, Mount Gorongosa Pigmy Chameleon, Gorongosa Spiny Crustacean etc.
Wild Camp is a great option for backpackers, overlanders, and anyone who just loves to sleep under the stars. The campsite is in a shady, natural grove of trees set away from the main lodge and restaurant to give campers a feeling of being away from it all.
